The Day Before Thanksgiving

Isn't there a different ambiance in the air that precedes a holiday? Maybe it is the jovial expressions on people's faces, or the impending weather change.
Whatever the case may be there is a certain benevolence that attaches itself. It seems people are more courteous to each other and the stores are jammed packed with eager customers devouring the specials and sales.
Many more will have a nice quiet Thanksgiving dinner spent with family and friends. Holidays are where some see each other since the last holiday. The speciality of closeness seems to prevail upon us.
A great deal of the populace partake in the early bird specials the day after Thanksgiving. People actually wait in line at two, three or four in the morning eagerly anticipating the advent of the store's opening. My wife enjoys spending the day with my family to do that, but I would rather not. I would rather be at home soaking in the warmness of my home and hanging out with my daughter.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
