Finishing the most recent fantasy novella left me wondering. Exactly how many
words are considered to be a novella? All of the four have over 25,000 words.
Writers Digest suggests: "Novellas generally run 20,000-50,000 words. About 30,000 words is average."
The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America suggests:
