Did you ever notice there are a great deal of negators around? What the heck is a negator? I don't know if it is a word or not, but I call negative people that. There is so much negativity around it is scary. Why are people so pessimistic? What are they afraid of?
I have a realistic approach to life. A simple definition of reality: Reality is, not what it ought to be. It ought to cost forty-five cents for gas. Well, it doesn't. Reality is that the price of gas is hovering near three dollars a gallon. You can take almost any situation and apply that simple approach.
I have been labeled a pessimistic. I tell people who think I am that they are wrong. I am a realist. Realism may border pessimism, but I have yet to cross over.
People take themselves way too serious. Society needs to lighten up a bit. (They need to lighten up a great deal.)
With the media highlighting more depressing news than good news and the political candidates smearing each other, no wonder people are downbeat. Bad news sells and it sells the soul of the people.
Enough of my lecture. I will get down off the podium and read my newspaper.
