The Spiritual Side of Theology

I was reading a book on discovering your life's purpose, and it mentioned nothing about theology, but a great deal on spirituality.
Can you attain both? I think so. Theology is religiously based. So whether you believe in God or not, you are able to discuss theology based on your opinion or faith. There are fervent, pious people that will argue their viewpoint regardless of their religious affiliation. I am not here to discuss whether they are right or wrong. That is not my intention.
My intention is to discuss the difference between being religious and being spiritual.
Spirituality encompasses the real you. Spirit means breath, so in essence, the spiritual side could represent the life force of an individual.
I will take that one step further. Spirituality is the ability to raise your conscientiousness to a higher level in order to attain more insight on how you feel and why.
That statement is not meant to appear new ageish, but to give an opinion on what I think it is. If you can collaborate both aspects into a cohesive lifestyle, you will feel dually blessed. You will have the best of both worlds.
Even if you utilize only one of them, as long as you feel you are on the right path, then that is the correct decision.
Whether you choose the religious path, the spiritual path, or both, you should realize that you are where you are in life for a reason. What that reason is can only be answered by you through prayer and alot of soul searching.
