The weather is getting cooler; the heat is kicking on in the house... that can only mean that fall has finally shown its face. With that, winter is just around the corner.
I despise the cold weather. As I get older, the cold seems to permeate my skin. While I will not move from my present locale, it does warrant a closer look as to why I feel this way.
I do not like the cold. People say they would rather have winter versus summer because in the winter, if you get too hot, all you have to do is remove clothing and you will get cooler. The reciprocal cannot be said about summer. You cannot remove all your clothing so you are stuck being hot.
Good argument. I still would prefer the summer. In the summer time you could go into your air conditioned house, your air conditioned work place or your air conditioned car.
I know some people do not have access to air conditioning. Hell, I grew up without air conditioning in New York, so I understand your plight.
Maybe it is just stubbornness on my part. I refuse to cave into liking winter. I am sure my rationale is not really rational.
I guess it comes down to the realization that I like being warm without all of the cumbersome attire associated with winter.
I like the snow, but I do not like walking in it and driving in it. When it turns into slush is the worst. What was so... pristine now becomes its antithesis.
Acceptance of something can make a profound difference on perception. However, I will continue to think the same way and be stubborn about it.
All of the logical thinking in the world will not make me change my mind.
That being said, my favorite time of the year is spring. A jacket is a great deal more comfortable than putting on several layers of clothing.
